Ministry of Letters

In 2011, Mother London and Thames & Hudson published a children’s book titled ' The Ministry of Letters: Operation Alphabet '. Its purpose was to get kids excited about words, language, and the power of storytelling.

In 2011, Mother London and Thames & Hudson published a children’s book titled 'The Ministry of Letters: Operation Alphabet'. Its purpose was to get kids excited about words, language, and the power of storytelling.

Later, to expand on this theme, Mother released an app called ' The Singing Alphabet ' to help children learn phonetics through play. My role was to design the UX, UI and create the lowercase singing letters.

Later, to expand on this theme, Mother released an app called 'The Singing Alphabet' to help children learn phonetics through play. My role was to design the UX, UI and create the lowercase singing letters.

We also made a little teaser film to get people excited about the app (see below).

In it's first week of release 'The Singing Alphabet' ranked in the top 10 paid-for educational apps in the US and Top 10 paid-for UK apps.

It became the number 1 paid-for educational app in the App Store, and was selected as the “Best Educational App for Kids” by The Observer.
